How Photocopiers Work
Xerographic process was discovered by Chester Carlson last 1938 and improved by Xerox company so that copying pictures as well as text would be made easy. Since Xerox is the first one which introduces the photocopying machines to the public, many companies which imitate them name the machine as Xerox without realizing that it is the name of the company. It is invented to print and to copy.
On the other hand, Carlson really called it electrophotography. There are two events which take place. First is the attraction of the two opposite electrical charges of the materials and when the materials transform to conductors once they are exposed to light. Through these two events, Carlson also made 6 step process so that images or text will be transferred from one source to another.
